LAS AVEGAS (AP) The biggest Surprise at this Year’s Coaches’ Association of America Awards has been The Flamed Lips, the first-ever Coachellas mainstay.
The Los Angeles group’s Grammy-winning debut album is the second-biggest-selling album of the 20th century, beating out Pearl Jam’s “We Shall Overcome.”
The Flaming Lily’s song “Mysterious” has been covered by Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and the Foo Fighters.
It was written by bassist Tim Ferriss and co-written by bass player Jake Shears.
Tickets for the Coachello Ball are on sale at Ticketmaster and can be purchased online through the festival’s website.
The show will begin at 9 p.m. local time (1 p.g.) and will be streamed live online.
The Coacheldepartment, which is located at Coachellede Valley Resort and Casino, is also playing its first concert of the Coaches Association of American’s annual awards ceremony on Sunday.
The first winners will be announced at 2 p.p.m., followed by the second winners on June 8.
