The Miami Dolphins are getting a quarterback, and that might not even be the biggest news of the draft.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that the Miami Dolphins were going to be getting quarterback Matt Moore from the Oakland Raiders.
Rapoports report said the Dolphins are still looking for a franchise quarterback, but Moore is considered the top candidate in the draft for a team looking for one.
Rapops report also said the Miami Herald is reporting that the Raiders have agreed to terms on a deal for Moore.
The Raiders have been interested in Moore for some time.
In addition to his stellar college career at Oregon, Moore was also the starter at North Carolina for two years.
The Raiders drafted him with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2015 draft.
Moore was selected by the Dolphins with the first pick in that year’s draft, and the two played together on a very successful Dolphins team that finished with a playoff appearance.
Moore also spent time as a backup for the Dolphins during the 2016 season, and he was named the team’s Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Moore spent two seasons as the backup to Derek Carr in Oakland before returning to North Carolina.
